After undergoing a Visia facial analysis, I discovered fascinating insights into my skin’s condition. My Visia results gave me a detailed breakdown of various aspects of my skin, such as spots, wrinkles, texture, pores, UV spots, brown spots, red areas, and porphyrins. With this data in hand, I decided to ask ChatGPT for a customized skincare routine that targets my specific concerns. Here’s the skincare regimen ChatGPT suggested, based on the findings of my Visia analysis.

Quick Reminder of My Visia Analysis

I’ve already written a full article about my Visia analysis, including detailed insights and reflections. If you’d like to dive deeper into what this analysis revealed about my skin, feel free to check out my article here. But as a quick reminder, here’s a brief overview of my Visia analysis to set the context.

  • Spots (61%) – I have a moderate presence of spots on my skin.
  • Wrinkles (94%) – Wrinkles are one of my skin’s most significant concerns.
  • Texture (92%) – My skin texture could use some improvement.
  • Pores (41%) – While my pores aren’t severely large, there’s room for refinement.
  • UV Spots (29%) – There’s some UV-induced damage, though it’s not overwhelming.
  • Brown Spots (82%) – These spots are a prominent concern that needs attention.
  • Red Areas (43%) – I have moderate redness that requires calming.
  • Porphyrins (34%) – My skin has moderate amounts of these bacterial byproducts, indicating a need for better cleaning and pore care.

With these insights in mind, ChatGPT designed a skincare routine that addresses each of these concerns. Here’s what I’ve been recommended to do:

Morning Skincare Routine by ChatGPT

1. Gentle CleanserTo remove any excess sebum or impurities accumulated overnight.
2. Hydrating TonerMy analysis shows moderate redness, so a soothing toner will help calm any irritation. The toner will balance my skin’s pH and add a boost of hydration. It will also prepare my skin to better absorb the serums that follow.
3. Brightening and Anti-Aging SerumChatGPT recommended a brightening serum containing Vitamin C to target my brown spots (82%) and combat UV damage (29%). For wrinkles, it suggests a serum with peptides or antioxidants, which are essential for improving skin elasticity and reducing fine lines.
4. MoisturizerA lightweight moisturizer to keep my skin smooth and balanced. This is particularly important to maintain hydration, improve my skin texture (92%), and reduce the appearance of wrinkles (94%).
5. Sunscreen (if I go out).

NB: Want to know more about sunscreens and SPF, check some articles -> (“Mineral vs. Chemical Sunscreen: Difference & My Preferences?“; “SPF, PA, UVs Rays, and Protection: Everything You Need to Know“)
A broad-spectrum sunscreen is essential! Since my skin shows signs of UV spots (29%) and brown spots (82%), it’s crucial to protect it from further sun damage.

Night Skincare Routine by ChatGPT

1. Gentle CleanserChatGPT recommends cleansing the skin again to remove makeup, sunscreen, and other impurities accumulated throughout the day.
2. Exfoliation (2 to 3 times per week)ChatGPT suggested exfoliating 2 to 3 times per week to improve my texture (92%) and brown spots (82%). Using a gentle chemical exfoliant with AHAs (like glycolic acid) or BHAs (like salicylic acid) will help remove dead skin cells, reveal smoother skin, and address discoloration.
3. Hydrating TonerAfter exfoliating or cleansing, I will apply a hydrating toner to replenish moisture and soothe my skin. This helps balance the skin and calm redness (43%).
4. Anti-Aging and Repair SerumNighttime is when my skin regenerates, so I’ll use a serum that targets wrinkles (94%) and improves overall skin texture. Retinol is an excellent ingredient for this, as it boosts collagen production, accelerates cell turnover, and addresses wrinkles.
5. MoisturizerAt night, my moisturizer needs to be more nourishing to aid the skin’s natural repair process. This will help reduce wrinkles, improve texture, and keep my skin hydrated as I sleep.
6. (Optional) Overnight Hydrating Mask (1 to 2 times per week)ChatGPT also suggested incorporating an overnight mask once or twice a week to intensify hydration and address dryness or rough texture.

Comparison with My Current Skincare Routine

You can find my full skincare routine including the products I use and recommend in the following articles: “A Minimalist’s Skincare Routine” or “My Skincare Routine After Isotretinoin: How I Care for My Skin Post-Treatment

Morning:

1. CleansingI wash my face with just water to avoid irritation.
2. MoisturizerEven water, especially in winter, dries out my skin. To avoid any irritation, I apply a moisturizing cream in the morning. However, if I’m going out, my sunscreen acts as my moisturizer (this works for me).
  • ChatGPT’s Routine: ChatGPT suggests using a gentle hydrating cleanser, toner, and a brightening anti-aging serum (like Vitamin C) before applying sunscreen. This adds a more structured approach to targeting pigmentation and wrinkles.

Evening:

1. Oil CleansingOil cleansing is a key step to effectively remove makeup, sunscreen, and impurities accumulated throughout the day. The oil dissolves the oils on your skin without damaging the skin barrier, making it ideal for maintaining the balance of sensitive skin.
2. Hydrating Anti-Imperfection CleanserAfter the oil cleanse, a gentle, hydrating cleanser removes any remaining residue and deeply cleanses the skin. Choosing an anti-imperfection formula also targets porphyrins and blemishes without compromising hydration.
3. Hydrating BalmThe foundation of any routine: good hydration. The hydrating balm soothes your skin, strengthens the skin barrier, and helps combat tightness, especially during winter. This step is essential to maintain your skin’s elasticity and suppleness.
4. Tretinoin (2 to 3 times per week)Tretinoin, a derivative of Vitamin A, is a powerful active ingredient that improves skin texture, smooths fine lines, and lightens dark spots. Using it a few times a week allows your skin to benefit from its effects without causing too much sensitivity.
5. Azelaic Acid (2 times per week)Azelaic acid is perfect for soothing redness, reducing blemishes, and evening out skin tone. It’s particularly suited for sensitive skin, as it works gently while offering visible results with regular use.
6. Hydrating BalmTo finish off your routine, apply the hydrating balm again to seal in moisture and maximize the effectiveness of the active ingredients applied earlier. This final step is essential to ensure your skin stays comfortable and well-protected throughout the night.
  • ChatGPT’s Routine: ChatGPT recommends exfoliating 2-3 times a week, using retinol consistently, and incorporating niacinamide for redness and texture. It also suggests using lighter moisturizers during the day and richer ones at night.

What I’d Keep from ChatGPT’s Recommendations

The idea of incorporating peptide serums appeals to me, as they could help strengthen my skin barrier and improve elasticity without causing irritation. I also like the suggestion of using hydrating masks more regularly, especially during winter when my skin is particularly reactive. Hydration is always my top priority to prevent irritation and eczema. When my skin barrier is damaged, I need to stop all actives and focus solely on repair with rich products, like my trusty diaper cream, which I sometimes use as a mask to soothe and calm my skin.

What I’d Skip from ChatGPT’s recommendations

Using a cleanser in the morning is too harsh for my sensitive skin and doesn’t fit my needs. I’m also not a fan of Vitamin C. While it has its benefits, I’ve written an article explaining why I choose to avoid it: it oxidizes too quickly, can cause staining, and I already see brightening results with azelaic acid, an ingredient that works wonderfully for me.

Additionally, I won’t be including exfoliation in my routine, as I find that tretinoin works well enough to improve my skin’s texture. While exfoliating is often recommended for this purpose, tretinoin already helps smooth and renew my skin, so I don’t feel the need to add another exfoliant.

This skincare routine is personalized based on my Visia facial analysis, focusing on reducing wrinkles, improving texture, targeting brown spots, and refining pores. I’ll follow this routine daily, adjusting as needed, and giving my skin the care it deserves to address my specific concerns. By incorporating exfoliation, retinol, Vitamin C, and a broad-spectrum sunscreen, I’ll give my skin the best chance at looking youthful, even-toned, and smooth.

Remember, consistency is key when it comes to skincare. This routine should be followed for several weeks to start seeing noticeable results. I’m excited to begin this new journey and track my progress!

See you soon, Beautifully Moi!
